Hilary Norris


First educated in Worcester, Hilary read music at Oxford and was Organ Scholar at Keble College. Post-graduate work in performance followed at Amsterdam Conservatoire, and then research at the Royal Academy of Music. Hilary is Director of Studies for the Diocese of Hereford Organists' Training scheme; she is active as an organ teacher and recitalist, as well as appearing regularly in chamber-music ensembles and as a continuo player (organ and harpsichord).

Gerdi Troskie


Gerdi Troskie completed her BMus and MMus degrees at the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa and continued with post-graduate organ studies at the Amsterdam Conservatorium with Jacques van Oortmerssen. She was awarded the Conservatorium’s Soloist's Diploma (organ) in 1996. In 1996 Gerdi moved to the UK. She taught organ and musicianship at the Royal College of Music Junior Department from 1998-2005. Gerdi was Organist and Director of Music at St Anselm and St Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Holborn, London from 1996-2002 and joined the St Giles (subsequently RCO) Organ School team of professional teachers in 2000. Gerdi has taught on many courses, including the RCO Summer Course, and has directed courses for young organists at Oundle. She has played recitals in the UK, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and South Africa. She has written articles for Organists Review magazine and adjudicated organ classes at Arts Festivals.

Fiona Chryssides MA, BMus, FRCO, ARCM


Fiona Chryssides is an experienced teacher of students ranging from beginners and basic service playing to diploma level. ABRSM examiner at grade and diploma levels. Teaching usually takes place on the fine 1995 Nicholson organ in St Peter's Church, Lugwardine and on occasions on the student's own instrument (church or home).

Level: Complete beginners (i.e. no piano background) to advanced

Area: Mid/east Herefordshire and Worcestershire borders

Availability: Weekdays until 4.30
